Thursday June 16, 2011 - Stony Mountain Rail Trail

“Hopeful” HERB will lead a 7-8 mile hike in the area of Fort Indiantown Gap. This is an all day event with a 35 mile drive to the Stony Mountain Rail-Trail parking lot off of Goldmine Road. We will see the remains of an abandoned town, read the history of the area on a historic marker and visit a bubbling spring. We may check out the Rausch Gap Shelter on the AT or visit a long abandoned graveyard. Arrive back to our cars via the same route. There will be a lunch stop for those interested.

MEET: 8:30 A.M. @ Shur-Fine parking lot off Rte. 422 in Sinking Spring.
TELEPHONE: “Hopeful Herb” 610-286-6886 for further info or questions.
