LES will lead a 5 plus miles hike in COVENTRY WOODS. Have you hiked the eastern most part of Coventry Woods? Probably not, but this is your chance. This hike begins on the ridge and uses trails and some roads to arrive at a mile long section of the Coventry Trail that leads out of the park to the east. When exiting the park a small stream must be crossed. Conditions will determine whether we cross it and do a mile of road walking or retrace our steps. Either way we will return to our starting point, partly via another new section of trail in this end of the park. As always, in Coventry Woods there will be steep hills, but mostly towards the end of this hike. Dress for the weather, wear orange and good hiking boots and carry water. A place to lunch later will be determined and is an option.
1st MEET: 9:40 A.M. @ St. Peter’s Village lot, park at the far end away from the village. We will drive approximately three miles to our starting point.
2nd MEET: 10:00 A.M. @ Coventry Woods Chestnut Hill lot, near the pavilion.
