Thursday Oct 29, 2015 - Wildwood Park, Harrisburg

FELICIA (Al’s daughter) wants us to take a trip west to the state capital and enjoy the wetlands, lake and sanctuary at Wildwood Park. This 3.5 mile circle hike around the lake is divided between easy and moderate difficulty. There is an additional .25 mile difficult add on where we can challenge ourselves, if we desire.

This hike includes some boardwalk areas leading into the wetland and bird blinds. The last mile and a half of the hike is a flat towpath trail (1 mile) followed by a half mile boardwalk. Wildwood Park is located just off I 81 near the Farm Show Complex and Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). The address is 100 Wildwood Way, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110.

1st MEET: 8:45 A.M. @ Church Rd. parking lot of Blue Marsh off Rte. 183 to carpool to Harrisburg.

2nd MEET: 10:30 A.M. @ Benjimin Olewine lll Nature Center parking lot. We can use the facilities there before venturing out onto the trail. Following this hike we will head east toward Hershey for a prepared lunch at the home of Al's daughter, Felicia.
