Thursday, Jul 26, 2018 - Leesport Locks and Bridges

ED will lead the LEESPORT LOCKS AND BRIDGES HIKE - Approx. 5 easy to moderate miles. A new history hike in and around Leesport. We will see canal locks 36, 37, and 38. Also, see the new bridge over the river under construction, the lock tenders house, and other local sights. The hike is on both trails and area roads, with only one significant hill.

MEET: 9:30 A.M. @ Leesport Library
DIRECTIONS: We will park behind the Leesport library on Washington St. This is in west Leesport and must be accessed (due to bridge construction) via Cross Keys Rd. to Grange Rd. (follow the Wall St. Detour signs). Turn right on Grange Rd. which becomes Main St. in west Leesport. Where Grange bends to the left at the railroad, go straight, staying on Main St. Turn right on Washington St ( last street before the river ), and look for the library about one tenth of a mile on the right, next to the Leesport pool.

TELEPHONE: Leader Ed 610-921-3252 with any questions.
